Cyberex Debuts SuperSwitch 2 Technology

December 11, 2001 by Jeff Shepard

Cyberex Corp. (Highland Heights, OH) announced the release of its new Cyberex SuperSwitch 2 technology. SuperSwitch 2 technology marks the evolution of Cyberex's patented SuperSwitch design. The SuperSwitch 2 system serves as the intelligence of Cyberex’s digital static-transfer switches (DSTS), providing reliable, seamless power transfers between two critical ac sources.

SuperSwitch 2 technology provides new features to maximize system and load reliability at data centers; ISPs; and telecommunications, industrial and other mission-critical operations. Additionally, mean time between downing events of 10 million hours meets absolute uptime demands, fault-tolerant logic boards ensure no single-points of failure, intelligent logic firewalls prevent STS activation induced by false-signals, fast source-reacquisition software enables the DSTS to return immediately to a good power source when available, and enhanced diagnostics provide system-wide monitoring.

The Cyberex DSTS products provide instantaneous (less than 4ms) power transfers through the use of rugged, highly reliable silicon-controlled rectifiers. The DSTS models also feature an exclusive, solid-state design for longevity and reliability.
