Current Sense Chips available Down to 5 Milliohms

The CSRF series of SMD current sense resistors from Stackpole is now available in resistances down to 5 milliohms in an 0402 chip size. This state of the art low resistance value combined with the small package size allows for efficiency improvement in small portable electronic devices and potential downsizing existing designs. Lower resistance values allows for higher current handling for a given resistor size and lower self-heating at a given current level.

CSRF current sense resistors have a power rating up to 0.25W (0.125W for the new 5 milliohm devices) and a resistance temperature coefficient of ±200 ppm/degree C. They are rated for full power up from -55 to 100 degrees C and derate linearly above 100 degrees C to zero at 170 degrees C
