Cherokee Adds CAR1212 to Front-End/Rectifier Family
Cherokee International LLC (Tustin, CA), a manufacturer of switch-mode power supplies, introduced its new CAR1212 front-end, which is intended for low-profile, 12 V distributed power architecture applications such as networking equipment and mid-end to high-end servers. The CAR1212 hits an ultra-high power density of 17 W/in³ and delivers 104 A, supporting 12 V bus architectures that power point-of-load converters for low-power to mid-power datacom systems.
The small form factor of the CAR1212 is suitable for space-constrained applications where system real estate is at a premium. Protection features on the rectifier include input over-voltage and under-voltage, output over-voltage, over-temperature, and over-current. In addition, an automatic fan speed control feature is ideal for optimizing noise levels of sensitive office-environment applications. The new CAR1212 model is also available with full I2C communications, providing intelligent monitoring and control of critical parameters.
Packaged in a small, 1U-high footprint and measuring 1.61 in x 4 in x 11.2 in, the CAR1212 modules are priced at $235 in OEM quantities. Samples and low-order quantities are available now.
