C&D Intros 200W Compact PCI Power Supply

New Products Jan 22, 2006 by Jeff Shepard

C&D Technologies has introduced a new small form factor ac-dc power supply that delivers 200W of continuous output power. The cPCI200A-1 is supplied in a compact single card slot 3U x 4HP housing.

Developed to support hot-swapping, the new power supply is compliant with the PICMG™ 2.11 R1.0 Power Interface Specification with 47-pin I/O connection, as well as all the underlying CompactPCI standards.

The 80% efficient (typical) cPCI200A-1 is optimised for use in high availability enterprise applications and specifies a wide 90 to 264VAC input range with active power factor correction. Current sharing, internal ORing diodes and N+1 redundant configuration reinforce its suitability for use in a wide range of applications.

The cPCI200A-1 supports the standard PCI voltage architectures of +3.3V, +5V, +12V and –12V. Outputs are individually protected against overloads and the power supply is capable of automatic recovery on removal of the fault condition. Over temperature protection is also a standard feature.

Remote sensing on the +5VDC, +3.3VDC and +12VDC outputs allows compensation of up to 0.3VDC of line drop, while over voltage protection is rated at 125% (typical) of nominal.

The cPCI200A-1 is designed for compliance with UL1950/CSA1950 and EN60950 safety standards and is able to deliver full output power between 0°C and +50°C.
