Capstone Turbine Launches New C60 CHP System

Capstone Turbine Corp. (Chatsworth, CA), a leading microturbine power systems manufacturer, has begun shipping a new combined heat and power (CHP) product based on its low-emission, 60kW microturbine power system. The new C60 all-in-one system has a lower cost and footprint, with less than 20in added height, and offers greater power/thermal load-following flexibility.

The C60 features a total fuel efficiency >80%; a built-in, hardware-free, 2-to-20-unit arraying; a turboshaft supported by patented air bearings; a weight of 2,200lbs (black-start: 3,000lbs); and dimensions of 94in x 30in x 77in. The vibration-free power system uses no lubricants, coolants or other hazmats. Scheduled maintenance is filter cleaning/replacement each 8,000 hours; minor parts at 20,000; overhaul at 40,000.

The C60 power system has a three-year warranty standard. Certifications include UL-2200/1741/1995/795, NFPA, NEMA 3R, CA Rule 21 and NYPSC DG interconnect certified, CARB DG 2003, and others.
