Board-to-Board Connectors Support Faster Charging Times
Kyocera Connector Products Corporation has added the 7129 Series board-to-board connectors which are capable of conducting currents up to 10A, which is claimed to be the best class in the industry. Although it is a space-saving product with 0.7mm stacking height, 2.2mm in width and 5.64mm in length, it achieves robustness and smooth mating by attaching metals on both side-ends to prevent damage to insulator housings and contacts due to mating in a misaligned way.
Because they are capable of conducting high current up to 10A, these connectors can contribute to reducing charging time of mobile phone handsets and other mobile devices. In addition, a metal cover enhances strength, which may otherwise be compromised in space-saving connectors with lower profiles. This also prevents damage from contact misalignment, as the structure of the metal cover helps guide connectors smoothly for easy mating.
These connectors include 2 positions for signal pins and 4 positions for power pins. The rated current is 0.4-Adc for each signal pin and 10-Adc for pairs of 2 power pins. The voltage rating is 30Vdc per contact with an isolation rating of 200Vac rms for one minute. The operating temperature range of the 7129 Series board-to-board connectors is -40 to +85 degrees C. The contacts are a copper alloy and the connector body is a heat-resistant plastic with a metal cover. They are RoHS compliant.
