Bicron Electronics Debuts New Voltage Transformers

Bicron Electronics Co. (Canaan, CT) introduced its new series of high-isolation-voltage transformers for use in switch-mode power supplies requiring high reliability and long life. The series is specially designed for applications where extreme isolation is required, such as for IGBT motor drive applications or for medical electronics systems.

The new transformers are specifically engineered and 100-percent tested for corona inception/extinction voltages up to 15,000Vrms at 60Hz, and ac HiPot tested at voltages up to 20,000Vrms at 60Hz up to one minute. The high-isolation transformers are rated up to 400VA total power at 40 degrees C. The input frequency ranges from 20kHz to 500kHz, and input voltages range from 48Vrms to 100Vrms.
