Axiomatic Technologies Corp. (Canada) announced the release of a dc/dc converter. The new converter provides 24Vdc power suitable for 24V solenoids, relays and other electrical systems. The unit is fully sealed and potted in an enclosure to protect against moisture, shock and vibration. Power from a battery or other source, at a nominal 48Vdc, is converted to 24Vdc, regulated to 0.5 percent. Other versions are available that interface to an 80Vdc power source.
The unit has a high-current output capability of 13A nominal, 18A peak. It manages heat dissipation and requires no forced-cooling systems. Short-circuit and reverse-polarity protections are provided. The unit is designed with rugged surge and transient suppression in addition to sustained over/under voltage protection.
