AVX Unveils Hi-Q Series Chip Capacitors

AVX Corp. (Myrtle Beach, SC) introduced the Hi-Q Series of MLC chip capacitors. The Hi-Q Series capacitors are designed to handle high-power and high-voltage levels for applications in RF power amplifiers, inductive heating, high magnetic field environments (MRI coils), and medical and industrial electronics.

“AVX’s Hi-Q Series devices provide design engineers with a versatile MLC capacitor that is ideal for high-current, RF power applications,” stated Bob Obuszewski, AVX product manager. “The improved dissipation characteristics allow for excellent electrical performance at high frequencies.”

The Hi-Q Series capacitors are available in case sizes 2325 and 3739, and feature capacitance values from 10,000pF down to 10pF with tolerances to ±1 percent. The rated voltage ranges from 300Vdc to 4,000Vdc, with a temperature coefficient of 90±30ppm per degree C over the temperature range from -55 to +125 degrees C.

Typical pricing for the Hi-Q Series capacitors is $2.00 to $5.00 each in OEM quantities with lead times from stock to eight weeks.
