APT Europe Expands Boost/Buck Circuit Product Line

August 26, 2004 by Jeff Shepard

The European division of Advanced Power Technology Inc. (APT, Bend, OR) announced expansion of its current family of boost and buck chopper circuits using MOSFETs in plastic SOT-227 packages to include COOLMOS™ and IGBT transistors. Transistor options include APT POWER MOS 7® and APT POWER MOS V® MOSFETs; Trench, NPT and PT IGBTs; and COOLMOS™ MOSFETs. The SOT-227 isolated package provides 2,500 V isolation with screw-on terminals allowing ease of assembly onto a PC board and the heatsink.

Suitable for power-factor correction (PFC) converters used for single-phase ac-dc converters in switch-mode power supplies, dc motor control, reluctance motor drives, brake switches in motor drives, and dc-dc converters using asymmetrical bridges.

Samples are available now. Lead times for up to 10,000-unit quantities are from 8 to 12 weeks. Pricing for 100 pieces ranges from $14 to $24.
