Advanced Power Technology Inc. (APT, Bend, OR) announced a new product line, the COOLMOS® Power MOSFETs, which are now available in hermetic packages for use in military and aerospace applications and harsh environments where added protection is required.
The COOLMOS Power MOSFETs have a specific on-resistance lower than conventional MOSFETs, which allow for a smaller chip for the same total on-resistance. In addition, the COOLMOS MOSFET maintains many of the traditional advantages of the conventional MOSFET such as simple drive requirements, fast switching capability and ruggedness. In some applications, the COOLMOS MOSFET can provide a lower-cost solution than a comparable conventional MOSFET. When combined with hermetic packaging, the devices offer unique design solutions to military and aerospace systems. MIL-PRF-19500 screening is available.
APT will be offering both 600 V and 800 V COOLMOS Power MOSFETs in TO-257, TO-254 and TO-258 hermetic packages. Volume production is operational now. Volume pricing starts at $38.57.
