APC Expands Smart-UPS Line With the 14000RMXL

American Power Conversion (APC, West Kingston, RI) has expanded its Smart-UPS line of uninterruptible power supplies with a new 1,400VA solution suitable for voice-over-IP, telecom and other mission-critical applications. The unit can be utilized in either rack- or stack-configuration and occupies only 3U of rack space. It can be configured with up to ten extended-run battery packs, each 2U high.

Additional features of the Smart-UPS 14000RMXL include a power output of 1,050W, flexible installation, and also hot-swappable, user-replace batteries. The Smart-UPS 1400RMXL also features AVR Boost and AVR Trip, and APC's PowerChute power management software. PowerChute performs automatic, unattended system shutdown as well as various diagnostic and remote management features such as UPS status and testing.

APC's Smart-UPS 1400RMXL 3U is available in both 120V and 230V versions for worldwide shipment in the second quarter of 2001.
