Anderson Power Introduces The Low Profile PCB POWERMOD PSX For Blindmate Applications

April 13, 2009 by Jeff Shepard

Anderson Power Products (APP) announced a new addition to its family of PCB products with the release of the POWERMOD PSX product line. According to the company, this low profile, family of connectors is 30% smaller than comparable products, and is perfect for when board space is at a premium and overall mating heights must be minimized. The connectors are well suited for power connections to embedded ac-dc power supplies or for board-to-board connections in servers, storage enclosures and communications equipment. Target markets include: telecommunications, datacom/network backbone, and data storage.

The streamlined design of the POWERMOD PSX offers power contacts rated to 60A and signal contacts rated to 1A (ratings per UL1977). The POWERMOD PSX series is available in either power and signal versions or power only to provide power distribution and control in a single connector body. The combined power and signal connectors offer 80 signal contacts, in addition to either 2 or 4 power contacts. The power only connectors are available in 2, 4, 6 and 8 contact configurations. Both versions offer male connectors in vertical and right angle configurations and a vertical female configuration to deliver support for coplanar, backplane or mezzanine connections.
