Analog Devices Debuts AD8362 RF IC

May 21, 2002 by Jeff Shepard

Analog Devices Inc. (Norwood, MA) unveiled what is claimed to be the industry's first RF IC that measures modulated-waveform power found in next-generation 3G infrastructure equipment, the AD8362, with a linear input and dB output that measures up to 2.7GHz over a 60dB range. The device has a measurement range from -45dBm to +15dBm within a 50 Ohm system and provides a 50mv/dB output-voltage scaling.

Operating on a single 5V supply and consuming just 19mA of quiescent current, the IC operates over a temperature range from -45 to +85 degrees C. Other integrated functions include error-correction and a precision bias circuit.

Available in a 16-lead TSSOP, the price is $6.25 for each 1,000 pieces.
