ANADIGICS Unveils AWT6310/AWT6314 Power Amplifiers

New Products Jul 25, 2005 by Jeff Shepard

ANADIGICS Inc. (Warren, NJ), a designer of radio frequency integrated circuit (RFIC) solutions for communications, unveiled its new AWT6310 and AWT6314 dual-band, InGaP power amplifiers (PAs) supporting the AMPS/cellular and PCS frequency bands. The new PAs provide full compliance with CDMA 1xRTT and CDMA 1xEV-DO standards, high efficiency, and linearity to enable signal integrity for mobile data applications. The small-footprint (3 mm x 5 mm) AWT6310 and AWT6314 feature independent RF paths to ensure performance in both frequency bands, while achieving a 25 percent space savings compared with solutions requiring two single-band PAs.

The AWT6310 and AWT6314 PA modules feature 39 percent efficiency, 50 mA of quiescent current, and 1 µA of leakage current in both bands. The PA modules deliver 27.5 dB gain in the cellular band and 26.5 dB gain in the PCS band, and offer an impressive typical adjacent channel power of approximately -50 dBc in both bands to provide a high-quality wireless connection for voice and data applications.

The PAs provide maximum PCB design flexibility to manufacturers by offering different pin-out configurations that simplify board layouts. The PAs also offer a common VMODE line to simplify the control interface and support single-mode operation up to full antenna power. The AWT6310 and AWT6314 are designed for applications that require European Union's Restriction of Hazardous Substances products.

The AWT6310 and AWT6314 are priced at $2.50 in quantities of 10,000 units.
