Alpha and Omega Semiconductor Expands SRFET™ Product Line

July 31, 2007 by Jeff Shepard

Alpha and Omega Semiconductor Inc. (AOS) announced the release of 13 new SRFET™ products. The SRFET™ family of MOSFETs is targeted for applications such as notebook and desktop PCs, servers, graphics cards, gaming consoles, datacom equipment, and point of load dc-dc converter applications.

The SRFET™ is a proprietary technology that monolithically incorporates a low leakage 0.4V Schottky body diode into an efficient Trench power MOSFET. The result is a higher efficiency and lower noise solution for dc-dc conversion, reducing heat and simplifying designs.

"In response to increasing customer demand for high performance SRFET™ products, we are introducing new options with extended voltage ratings," said David Grey, Director of MOSFET Marketing at AOS. "The new additions to the SRFET™ family have 30V drain-to-source and 20V gate-to-source ratings, making them ideal for many data and graphics processing applications that use 12V gate drivers."

The new SRFET™ devices, listed above, are fully released. The flagship products in the series AOL1700, AO4714, AO4938, and AOD492 are available in bottom-exposed single UltraSO-8™, single SO-8, dual SO-8, and DPAK, respectively. Samples are available from stock with production quantities available in 8 weeks. Pricing starts at $1.01, $0.90, $0.68, and $1.00 for 1,000 units, respectively.
