New Products Apr 06, 2004 by Jeff Shepard

Absopulse Electronics Ltd. (Carp, Ontario, Canada) introduced its new LVC 3000 adjustable power supply system, which was designed for high-power industrial and laboratory applications such as precision plating, spot-welding and battery simulation.

The system has an adjustment range of 0 Vdc to 10 Vdc at 300 A, and delivers 3,000 W regulated power from a 120 Vac/230 Vac (±15 percent) input. Output current can be set in seven 43 A increments via switches on the front panel. The output-voltage potentiometer, analog (or digital) output voltage and current meters, and input and output terminals are also located on the front-panel. The LVC 3000 features remote shut-down, high efficiency, full protection on the input and output, ±1.5-percent load regulation from a 10-percent load to full load (including output separation diodes), and a high-frequency ripple/noise of less than 100 mVpp.

The LVC 3000 power supply is housed in a 4U x 19 in x 18 in chassis and weighs 22 kg. It is priced at $3,939 at low quantities.
