Absopulse Debuts DRC150 Power Supply System

December 14, 2003 by Jeff Shepard

Absopulse Electronics Ltd. (Carp, Ontario, Canada) introduced its new DRC150 modular power supply system designed for dual-input and redundant-output operation. The system is well suited to mission-critical railway, marine, public utility, telecom and industrial applications.

The DRC150 delivers 150W from a 125Vdc input. The primary output provides 24Vdc at 5A and the secondary output provides 5Vdc at 5A. The system is comprised of two N + 1 redundant plug-in modules in a 3U x 19in wall-mount chassis. The inputs are switch-selectable to allow for seamless system maintenance. The power-on and alarm LED indicators are located on the front-panel of each plug-in module. Input and output connectors, switches, and fuses are located on the unit’s side panels to allow for rear mounting.

The system features high efficiency, low output noise and full electronic protection. It is designed to meet international safety approval requirements, including IEC950, CSA22-2-950 and UL1950. It also meets EN55022, Class A, EMI emissions regulations as a minimum. The DRC150 can be customized for various input and output requirements. Options include ruggedization against shock and vibration, metering, extended temperature ranges, and mounting in 19in racks.

The fully redundant DRC150 system is priced at $1,496 for quantities of 5 to 24.
