300mA Diamond LDO with High PSRR from NXP

August 12, 2013 by Jeff Shepard

The LD6835K series of small, low dropout regulators (LDOs) from NXP Semiconductors N.V. offer an ultra-high power supply rejection ratio (PSRR) of 75 dB. The voltage drop is 240 mV at 300 mA current rating, while operating input voltages can range from 1.75 to 5.5 V. The devices are available with fixed output voltages between 1.2 and 3.6 V in a DFN1010C-4 (SOT1194) package with a size of 1.0 x 1.0 x 0.55 mm. The LD6835K includes - as protection features - an over-temperature protection and an over-current limit protection.

The LDO has an integrated soft start to control the inrush current during start-up. These features make the LD6835K series suited for use in applications requiring component miniaturization, such as mobile phone handsets, cordless telephones and personal digital devices.

Key features and benefits of the LD6835K include: Low quiescent current in shut down mode (typical 1.0 μA); Current limiter with foldback circuit; 60 μV RMS output noise voltage (typical value) at 10 Hz to 100 kHz; Turn-on time just 150 μs; LD6835K/xxH: high-ohmic (3-state) output state when disabled; and LD6835K/xxP: low-ohmic output state when disabled (auto discharge function).
