225W Open-Frame AC-DC is UL8750 Approved for LED Lighting

SL Power introduced the new LU225 open frame AC-DC power supply. Thanks to industry-specific safety approvals, SL Power says that LU225 Enables makers of LED lighting equipment to shorten their development cycle. The LU225 family meets EN60950, EN55015 (EN55032) Class B Conducted EMI, IEC61000-3-2 Class C (LED dimming) standards.

In addition to its use for LED lighting, the LU225 family is suitable for industrial applications including test and measurement equipment, as well as equipment for process automation, displays, signage, renewable energy, and general information technology equipment (ITE).

The company says that LU225 is also one of the first open frame power supplies in the industry to feature UL8750 approval for LED equipment.

An active inrush current limit capability of 15A minimizes the need for multiple circuit protection devices, leading to lower installation and operating costs. The LU225 family offers up to 225W output power with fan cooling, up to 180W with conduction cooling, and up to 140W with convection cooling. Models are available in outputs of 12V, 24V, 36V, 48V, and 56V.

With a size of 2.2in x 4.16in x 1.5in (55.9mm x 105.66mm x 38.1mm), the LU225 family has a power density of 16.4W/inat 50°C.

The power supply features over-voltage protection, hiccup mode short circuit protection, auto recovery, over-temperature protection sensing, and hiccup mode over-load protection.
