14.4Vdc to 154Vdc Input 20W Railway DC-DC

During this year's electronica, Autronic introduced the HPBC20 designed for PCB mounting with an ultra-wide input voltage range between 14.4- and 154-Vdc with a output power of 20 Watts. Now one single device suits for all international on-board power supply voltages of rail vehicles (24V, 36V, 72V and 110V) including the +/- 40% tolerance required according to EN50155. Consequently, this ultra-wide solution is very interesting for companies with Europe-wide activities, since one converter is sufficient for the qualification of modules.

It complies with EN50155 regarding temperature, shock, vibration, as well as the railway specific criteria for EMC, surge, burst and ESD without additional components. Moreover, the HPBC20 railway converter has an integrated hold-up time of 10ms (Class S2) that makes this unit unique in this power range. The converters fulfills the Fire and Smoke according the EN45545-2 R25 HZL 1 to 3.

Features are inrush current limitation, over temperature protection, over voltage protection as well as a short-circuit protection. Beside the version with output 5V or 12V, also a version with 24V single output voltage is available. Besides the PCB mounting also a version for DIN Rail mounting (35mm) is available.
