UQM Technologies Inc. (Golden, CO) announced that it will participate in the Future Combat Systems (FCS) program as a member of a team led by The Boeing Co. (Seattle, WA). The $23.3 million cost-share contract provides for funding of $10.0 million from the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency and the US Army, and a cost-share contribution of $13.3 million from team members. UQM Technologies is participating as the team resource for power systems technologies and products for electric and hybrid-electric propulsion and associated vehicle-integration technology.

"We are extremely pleased to be a member of the Boeing team on this important military program to develop the military vehicles and mobility systems for the future. We believe our power system and inverter technologies will play an important role in enabling the tactical vehicles and systems envisioned in this program," said William G. Rankin, UQM Technologies president and CEO. "This additional defense program will likely lead to higher performing, lower fuel consuming and cleaner military vehicles."
