August 18, 2004 by Jeff Shepard

Unity Wireless Corp. (Burnaby, British Columbia), a developer of integrated wireless subsystems and power amplifiers, announced that Flarion Technologies Inc., the architect of the Internet Protocol (IP)-friendly, Fast Low-latency Access with Seamless Handoff - Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (FLASH-OFDM®) wireless broadband system, has qualified Unity Wireless as a provider of power amplifiers designed for use in the Flarion RadioRouter® base station product.

The Flarion system utilizes FLASH-OFDM air interface technology to deliver advanced broadband data and packetized voice services in an all-IP-based mobile environment. Through the FLASH-OFDM mobile broadband system, Flarion has created an end-to-end network that includes the RadioRouter base station product line, wireless modems, embedded chipsets and system software. This end-to-end network can enable licensed operators to overlay Flarion's technology onto their existing network equipment, enhancing the operator's ability to offer ubiquitous voice and high-speed data services.
