TUV Rheinland of North America Offers Improved GS Mark

July 27, 2006 by Jeff Shepard

TUV Rheinland of North America announced that it is now offering clients an improved GS Mark. The new mark links the widely-known GS Mark with TUV Rheinland's TUV.com service.

"Our new GS Mark provides added value to our customers and consumers by including a TUV.com web address where specific product information can be found," says David Surber, Vice President of Engineering with TUV Rheinland of North America. "This allows end users to obtain updated and detailed testing and safety information about a GS Marked product from any Internet connection worldwide. The improved GS Mark is another way that TUV Rheinland of North America is helping its customers gain an edge over competitors."

The TUV Rheinland of North America GS Mark has its roots in the German equipment safety law and shows that a product has been evaluated, tested and certified for safety. While voluntary, members of the European Union have become accustomed to seeing the GS Mark on consumer products.

"The TUV Rheinland GS Mark ensures consumers that they are buying an independently tested, safe product supported by regular surveillance inspections," says Surber. "The GS Mark signifies not only that a product has been tested safe, but that the factories producing the product are regularly audited to ensure continued compliance."
