TT Group plc (UK), whose holdings include AB, AEI Cables, BI Technologies, IRC, MMG, Neosid, and Welwyn, has changed its name to TT electronics plc in a move intended to reflect the renewed focus of the constituent businesses on advanced electronic and electrical technology. The name change was approved by shareholders at the firm’s annual general meeting and follows the de-merger of non-core businesses from the company’s holdings.

According to John Newman, TT electronics executive chairman, the new corporate name and new focus on electronics technologies is part of the company’s strategy for continued growth. “In conjunction with the de-merger, the name will better reflect our core activities in the electronics sector. The new TT electronics is now well-placed to continue its expansion into global markets and we are optimistic for the long-term future.”
