Solitron Devices Receives AS9100, Rev. B Certification

Solitron Devices, Inc. announced that it has received AS9100, Rev. B certification, the quality management system certification specifically designed for manufacturers of aerospace industry products.

Solitron was also re-certified for the ISO 9001:2000 quality management standard certification. This re-certification ensures quality management throughout all avenues of its business operations is met or exceeded. Both certifications signify Solitron’s commitment to providing products and services with attention to quality, safety, and customer satisfaction.

Solitron received AS9100, Rev. B certification and ISO 9001:2000 re-certification from UL DQS Inc. UL DQS Inc. is accredited under the aerospace Registrar Management Program.

Achieving certified status means that Solitron may now obtain new business that may have been outside its reach in the past and expects to continue to satisfy its existing aerospace customers long into the future."

Solitron designs and manufactures high density power components and circuitry. The company maintains a MIL-PRF-38534 and MIL-PRF-19500 Certified and Qualified manufacturing facility. Its discrete and hybrid devices are manufactured to withstand the environmental screening requirements for MIL-PRF-19500, MIL-PRF-38534 (Class H) or to a customer supplied Source Control Drawing/Specification Control Drawing including space level processing. Solitron manufactures more than 1500 standard semiconductor types including: power transistors, darlington transistors, UJTs, IGBTs, junction FETs, power MOSFETs, power diodes/rectifiers, voltage regulators (SMD and custom), dc-dc converters, Motor Drivers (Military, Industrial/Commercial), Power Factor Correction Modules and Rad-Hard components for various satellite and space exploration programs.

AS9100, Rev. B includes all the elements of ISO 9001:2000 with added sector specific requirements; configuration management, flow down of suppliers’ requirements, coordination of changes to material and processes, scope definition of supplier, approvals, and specific first article requirements. AS9100, Rev. B is based on the ISO 9001:2000 quality management standard, with 80 additional requirements and 18 addendums specific to the aerospace industry.
