Siemens Energy and Coulomb Tech Announce Joint Marketing Agreement for Integrated EV Product Offering
Siemens Energy, Inc. and Coulomb Technologies, Inc. announced a joint marketing agreement for an integrated electric vehicle product offering in the fast-moving market for e-mobility and state-of-the-art electric vehicle supply equipment (EVSE) technology, including electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure. This agreement will allow Siemens to offer companies, including utilities, electric retailers, municipalities and EV suppliers, the ability to monitor, bill and clear financial transactions for EV infrastructure market participants.

A series of events has put the Smart Grid market on the cusp of a big boom: the introduction of a number of new power generation sources such as renewable wind and solar power; the need for greater energy efficiency; changes in regulation for CO2 emissions; an emerging market for electric vehicles; and an aging, outdated existing power delivery system. Siemens estimates the global Smart Grid market in the fields in which it is engaged to be $36 billion between 2010 and 2014. Siemens and Coulomb say they are positioned well to leverage the strengths of both companies to jointly market a comprehensive solution for the EVSE market and provide a platform to customize solutions for customers based upon their unique business needs and models.
