Samsung to Spend $93 Million on Li-Ion Battery Lines

Samsung SDI Co. (Seoul, Korea) announced that it will spend US$93 million to build three more production lines to make lithium-ion (Li-Ion) rechargeable batteries used in mobile phones and other hand-held digital appliances. Samsung SDI said the three new production lines at its Cheonan plant, 92 km south of Seoul, will have a monthly production capacity of 4.6 million units.
