RWE SCHOTT Expands Germany/Czech Republic Sites

RWE SCHOTT Solar Inc. (RSS, Rocklin, CA), a manufacturer and distributor of solar-electric modules and systems, reported that it is setting up an additional 40 MW cell capacity at its headquarters in Alzenau, as well as 40 MW module capacity in the Czech Republic.

At its SmartSolarFab® photovoltaic production plant, two new cell lines are being developed. Each will produce solar cells with an output of over 20 MW each year. Two new module lines are being set up additionally at Valasské Mezirící in the Czech Republic, with an annual output exceeding 40 MW. RWE SCHOTT Solar is expanding its total capacity by more than 40 MW annually to 100 MW. The investment is totaling €40 million.
