Power Integrations Inc. (San Jose, CA), a leader in power conversion semiconductor technology, announced that it has filed a patent infringement lawsuit against System General Corp. (Taiwan). The suit, filed in the US Federal District Court, states that certain integrated circuits produced by System General infringe upon patents owned by Power Integrations. The company is seeking damages as well as an injunction against System General's products.

"Power Integrations has a policy of respecting the legitimate intellectual property of others, and we expect others to honor our intellectual property as well," said Power Integrations President and CEO Balu Balakrishnan. "We have successfully defended our intellectual property in the past, and we believe that our patents will be upheld in this case."
