Phihong Provides Full Early ECOC Compliance

September 15, 2003 by Jeff Shepard

Phihong (Fremont, CA) announced that the company provides OEMs of portable electronic equipment early compliance with the European Commission Code of Conduct on Efficiency of External Power Supplies. Two models of the R Series power adapter have already been converted and testing has confirmed that the technology is transferable to all other Phihong adapter products.

"We are very proud to contribute so significantly to the efforts in reducing air pollution and energy waste by being one of the first companies shipping fully compliant products, to 2005 requirements," said Keith Hopwood, vice president of marketing for Phihong. "Billions of dollars in global energy costs are lost annually to products that consumers believe to be turned off. These ‘energy vampires’ can be slain and energy waste can be drastically reduced through efficient power supply design."
