Oak Ridge Begins Facility and Equipment Upgrades

December 15, 2004 by Jeff Shepard

Oak Ridge Micro-Energy Inc. (Oak Ridge, TN) announced the beginning of the second phase of its business plan. The company has received the first of two deposition toolsets from a manufacturer in Florida, and anticipates that the second and final piece will be delivered by January 14, 2005. With the installations, the company's manufacturing capacity will increase by more than 60 times.

The company also reported the receipt and installation of the ancillary equipment needed for the production line. This includes a closed-loop recirculating chiller with the capacity to meet the requirements of both toolsets, as well as additional toolsets that might be added in the future, and an automated probe for rapid battery testing.
