O2Micro Granted 6,515,881 Inverter PDA Patent

O2Micro International Ltd. (Santa Clara, CA), a supplier of power management and security ICs to mobile computer and communications manufacturers, was granted 24 claims under US patent number 6,515,881 for inverter operability controlled to reduce electromagnetic interference in personal digital assistant (PDA) applications. The patented architecture minimizes electromagnetic interference that can affect the read/write process of the CPU and other components during normal operation of a PDA.

"This patent grant broadens O2Micro's inverter product application market to small hand-held devices," said Yung Lin, executive vice president of O2Micro's Intelligent Lighting business unit.
