Murata Receives VDE TDAP Certification For Safety Lab

February 18, 2008 by Jeff Shepard

Murata Power Solutions has announced that the safety laboratory at its Mansfield, Massachusetts facility has been certified by VDE’s Test Data Acceptance Program (TDAP). This allows Murata Power Solutions to conduct full in-house testing of its products for compliance to the IEC/EN60950-1 standard.

By receiving VDE TDAP certification, Murata Power Solutions becomes one of approximately 50 companies worldwide to hold the approval. Murata states that, as well as endorsing the quality of the company’s laboratory processes and people, VDE TDAP certification will also benefit its customers by helping speed to time-to-market, particularly for custom and modified standard products.

The VDE TDAP certification process requires candidate companies to prove high levels of proficiency and competence. This includes the demonstration of a complete knowledge of the standard and test procedures, having a laboratory equipped such that the full range of tests can be carried out.
