International Rectifier Corp. (IR, El Segundo, CA) and Mitsubishi Electric Engineering Co. Ltd. (MEE, Japan) announced that they will collaborate to develop, manufacture and sell integrated power solutions and turn-key power systems for space-level applications, such as communications and telemetry satellites.
Alex Lidow, IR's CEO, said, "Both IR and MEE possess tremendous power-management expertise for hi-rel applications. Our combined resources will create new and exciting solutions for next-generation space and defense systems."
Seiji Wataya, Mitsubishi Electric Engineering president, said, "The strengths of both companies will enhance and expand business and increase market share opportunities."
