Goldfield Creates New Division To Expand Presence

March 09, 2003 by Jeff Shepard

The Goldfield Corp. (Melbourne, FL), a leading provider of electrical construction services in the southeastern US, announced that it has created a new division to expand its presence in the mid-Atlantic region and has been awarded more than $6 million in new energy and telecommunications construction projects. The new division, in Greenville, SC, is focused on constructing transmission lines and fiber optic systems for electric utilities and telecommunications companies.

"These early contracts validate our strategy, to leverage Goldfield's unique capabilities and expand our presence beyond the Southeast region of the United States," said John Sottile, president of Goldfield. "We have successfully established our leadership in the Southeast, and will now be in a position to pursue projects in markets that were unavailable to us in the past."
