FuelCell Energy Inc. (Danbury, CT)

partner, the MTU Friedrichshafen unit of DaimlerChrysler Corp. (Auburn Hills, MI), announced that it will deliver seven new fuel cell power plants in Europe starting later this year, including RWE, IZAR, Deutsche Telekom AG, EnBW/Michelin, E-on/Degussa, IPF KG and VSE AG.

The 250kW power plants are based on the Direct FuelCell (DFC) technology and will

utilize fuel cells manufactured at FuelCell Energy’s Danbury manufacturing facility.

"The success of our partner MTU in siting commercial field trials at different customers

and for a variety of applications clearly demonstrates the global interest and potential for DFC power plants," said Jerry D. Leitman, president and CEO of FuelCell Energy. "We are pleased to add these orders to our existing backlog as we continue to ramp-up our manufacturing capability to commercialization."
