August 22, 2016 by Jeff Shepard

FreeWave Technologies, Inc. has formed a strategic partnership with Solis Energy, Inc., to deliver the best-in-class self-powered industrial wireless communication infrastructure specifically designed to operate in conditions where others fail. Since 1993, FreeWave has manufactured and deployed more than one million spread spectrum radios to more than 5,000 customers in the oil and gas, military, utilities, electric power, smart grid and wind power industries. Solis Energy, established in 2005, specializes in remote solar power and battery backup products designed for long-term use in harsh climates and volatile environments.

"Customers want access to their information anywhere, at any time, under any conditions. Our new partnership with Solis allows us to provide real-time information to places where data is needed to solve problems," said Scott Allen, CMO of FreeWave.

Solis Energy CEO Robert Reynolds agrees: "Our products are ideal for powering infrastructure where electricity is inconsistent or gaps in power exist," said Reynolds. "Both companies have systems running smoothly in a variety of environments, in both urban and remote locations. This collaboration will allow us to better service our collective markets."

Both companies are excited about the partnership and are already working through high profile opportunities to take advantage of the growing demand for smart systems and industrial connectivity.

"Solis Energy's power systems coupled with our proven radio technology and SCADA expertise will result in the rapid expansion of communication solutions to Industrial IoT networks," said FreeWave CEO Kim Niederman. "The intelligence we deliver to the edge of their expanding networks will amaze our customers."
