Fairchild and Arrow Electronics Streamline Quoting Process

May 17, 2005 by Jeff Shepard

Fairchild Semiconductor International Inc. (South Portland, ME) and Arrow Electronics have reduced the amount of time involved with their order management and quoting process by at least 50% through the implementation of RosettaNet standards.

RosettaNet, through real-time, system-to-system communications, automates the exchange of information between Fairchild, the supplier and Arrow, the distributor. As a result, both companies will benefit with a more efficient and accurate supply chain, improved productivity, and a faster response time for mutual electronic components customers.

"By delivering RosettaNet-based quoting with Arrow, we have strengthened our relationship, improved the flow of information, reduced the risk of error, and saved Arrow valuable time to spend with customers," said Fairchild Vice President of Worldwide Distribution Mark Norman. "Fairchild is dedicated to continuing to be on the leading edge of full e-commerce implementation, from fielding requests for information through product design in and final sale. We also believe RosettaNet-based quoting demonstrates our commitment to superior customer service by offering services that make it easy to do business with Fairchild."
