May 07, 2009 by Jeff Shepard

Emerson Network Power announced David Saliaris as Vice President of Professional Services for its Liebert services business. In this role, Saliaris is responsible for establishing strategy, developing engineering roadmaps and creating proper support plans for company products and services. He will administer Liebert’s professional assessment services which include cooling thermal assessments for the data center, Infrared (IR) scans and Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) modeling as well as oversee remote service delivery involving the remote call center and infrastructure management to ensure customers can execute customized service solutions. In addition, Saliaris will provide direction to field integration individuals and Liebert SiteScan specialists allowing for all software integration components to be implemented into the services provided to customers.

The professional services group delivers solutions that integrate on-site monitoring of business-critical infrastructure systems with preventive and emergency repair services. The group’s technical support and customer response system, the largest in the industry, will leverage the advanced Liebert critical-space monitoring technologies to provide new solutions for enhancing data center availability and operational performance.

"Service and monitoring are interdependent at the customer level and utilizing them together within our organization allows us to deliver these capabilities with greater efficiency and increased value," said Frank Bibens, President of Emerson Network Power’s Liebert services business. "We will extend remote monitoring to a whole new class of customers and plan to aggregate performance data across our customer base to more accurately predict equipment failures before they occur."

"By leveraging the strengths of our monitoring technologies and service offerings, Emerson can help its customers achieve a dynamic critical infrastructure whereby they can address and manage rapid changes in technologies and business environments while balancing availability demands and lowest cost of ownership," said Saliaris.

Recent advances in critical space monitoring technology have transformed it into a vital tool to help data center managers gain necessary insight into the performance and needs of their data centers. Two recently introduced monitoring services, Liebert Integrated Battery Monitoring Service and Liebert Enterprise Remote Monitoring, are said to exemplify how this technology can significantly increase the reliability and performance of data center equipment and reduce the possibility of expensive downtime; and when enhanced with preventive maintenance and/or service agreements, how they can greatly improve downtime recovery and uptime assurance.
