Emerson Intros Power Wizard Online Selection Tool

April 25, 2004 by Jeff Shepard

Emerson Network Power, a business of Emerson (St. Louis, MO), launched its Power Wizard web-based product selector for Astec Power's comprehensive range of power supplies. The new configurator quickly assists power and system design engineers in selecting or configuring the optimum power supply solution.

Utilizing Oracle’s database technology and Astec Power’s catalog of power supply specifications, products and accessories, users can search, identify and configure Astec power products that best fit their design and application. Users simply enter the technical specifications for ac-dc switchers, bulk supplies or dc-dc products, including nominal input voltage, maximum output power and number of outputs. If the user does not know all the technical parameters, the intuitive Power Wizard will guide the user to the most appropriate product family. Multiple choices may be returned with parameters such as power-factor correction, cooling and medical approvals specific to help select the appropriate solution.

The new Power Wizard program is available now on Astec Power's website.
