Cellex Power Confirms $2M Contribution from SDTC

April 04, 2004 by Jeff Shepard

Cellex Power Products Inc. (Vancouver, BC) announced that it has received a $2 million contribution from Sustainable Development Technology Canada (SDTC) to support a development and demonstration project that will use hydrogen fuel cells to power Class 3 fork-lift trucks.

The project focuses on developing fuel cell product solutions for powering Class 3 fork-lifts that currently operate with industrial lead-acid batteries and internal combustion engines. Fuel cell products have zero emissions and consequently significantly mitigate greenhouse gas emissions as well as harmful airborne contaminants. Off-road vehicles, including fork-lift trucks, contribute nearly 13 percent of transportation-related green house gases.
