Beacon Power Corp. (Wilmington, MA) showcased its advanced technology to an official Chinese trade delegation, including six representatives from Shanghai Municipal Electric Power. Shanghai Electric, along with other Chinese utility representatives and members of the Chinese Foreign Trade Ministry and US Consulate, is taking part in an orientation tour sponsored by the US Trade and Development Agency. Shanghai Electric is interested in improving system reliability and power quality to support economic development in industries that have a strict requirement for power quality.

"We're delighted to have the privilege of hosting this influential trade delegation at our facility. It gives us a chance to highlight the advances we've made in composite flywheel technology, as well as demonstrate how flywheel-based energy storage systems can offer superior power quality solutions," stated Beacon Power President and CEO Bill Capp.
