APEC Opens Factory in Saudi Arabia to Produce UPSs, Battery Chargers, Inverters and other Power Converters
Arabian Power Electronics Company’s (APEC) just-opened factory in Al-Khobar, Saudi Arabia, is the first and the only one of its kind in the Kingdom as well as in the entire region. It will produce uninterruptible power supply (UPS) systems, battery chargers, inverters, frequency converters and solar power systems.
APEC was established explicitly to localize the technical know-how and to enable the technology transfer of various power conversion products in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The 3500 M² manufacturing plant includes a complete test facility and enables APEC to manufacture and test the entire product range of all models of UPS systems up to 200 kVA and Battery chargers up to 800A. The test facility has both 50 Hz and 60 Hz and units are tested according to the most stringent international standards like IEC.

APEC will produce products that can last and withstand the unique environmental conditions of the region. It is worthy to mention that APEC will cater to customers ranging from utility power, oil and gas plants to all industries that require industrial grade power supply products where reliability is significant and efficiency has a great deal of importance.
The plant's current installed capacity is to produce 200 units of UPS systems, 500 battery chargers, 100 inverters, 100 frequency converters and 100 solar power systems. Currently, APEC's testing facility is designed to handle up to 200 kVA UPS and battery chargers up to 800A. The existing facility is expected to be expanded within 3 years when the production volume increases.
