Zolt Laptop Charger Plus Moves Into Production

September 02, 2015 by Jeff Shepard

Zolt (an Avogy, Inc. company), the company reinventing the laptop charger for the digital age, today announced that it has obtained Underwriters Laboratories (UL) certification, along with passing CE and EU requirements for the Zolt Laptop Charger Plus, an ultra-small and intelligent charger that allows users to charge their laptop as well as two additional mobile devices. The Zolt Laptop Charger Plus, which debuted at the 2015 International CES, is the first high-efficiency, compact and lightweight laptop charger to receive these safety certifications and officially moves into production to bring the product to consumers in fall 2015.

Passing UL 60950-21 certification indicates the Zolt Laptop Charger Plus meets or exceeds standards for safe operation. The device also meets CE and EU requirements, a standard that will help the Zolt Laptop Charger Plus conform to all EU directives and regulations and ultimately expand its reach into the European market. Currently, the Zolt Laptop Charger Plus is the only product of its specification to have this high-quality certification from third-party, not-for-profit safety organizations.

"As a leader in power electronics we are committed to providing consumers with the most efficient, ultra-small and safe power charger on the market," said Dinesh Ramanathan, CEO of Zolt. "The Zolt Laptop Charger Plus demonstrates our ongoing commitment to quality and safety and will continue to raise the bar for efficient, compact and light-weight power products in the global marketplace."

The Zolt Laptop Charger Plus offers a sleek form factor and reliable output. While laptops and other mobile devices continue to get thinner and lighter, laptop power chargers remain the same bulky, heavy bricks. Zolt Laptop Charger Plus aims to change that by offering a smaller and lighter charger that's also certifiably safer. Zolt is available for pre-order for $99.99 at gozolt.com and Amazon.com and will begin shipping product to consumers in fall 2015.
