September 30, 2003 by Jeff Shepard

XPiQ Inc. (Holliston, MA), a worldwide manufacturer and supplier of ac/dc and dc/dc power supply products, announced its new SDS120 Series of U-channel power supplies, which offer a choice of single- or triple-output models, and deliver up to 120W of output power. The SDS120 is able to operate without any airflow requirements. The converters are convection cooled and have full power up to 50°C (70°C with derating). The SDS120 measures 5.00in x 3.20in x 1.54in.

The series accepts a wide range of input voltages from 90Vac to 264Vac and can deliver output voltages ranging from 3.3Vdc to 48Vdc. Twenty-nine models are available offering a selection of 11 single-output and 18 triple-output models. All models meet international safety agency standards and feature active power-factor correction to comply with EN61000-3-2,-3.

Standard features for the SDS120 Series include no airflow requirements, no minimum load requirements for single-output models, a power-fail-detect signal, and over-current and over-voltage protection. The SDS120 also features EMI filtering that meets conducted FCC Part 15 and CISPR 22 Class B requirements.

The SDS120 Series is priced as low as $48 for 1,000 pieces. The series is available now in small quantities with production volume available in eight weeks ARO. Samples are available now.
