XP Power Adds Compact 100W Multiple Output Power Supply With Industrial & Medical Approvals

New Products Sep 05, 2007 by Jeff Shepard

XP Power announced the availability of its ECM100 series of open frame, multiple output 100W ac-dc power supplies. The series offers dual, triple and quad output variants with a total of 15 models in the range, and complements the single output versions released previously. Measuring just 4.5 x 2.5 x 1.2 inches (114.3 x 63.5 x 30.5 mm), the compact size of the ECM100 series provides a power density of 7.4W per cubic inch.

The ECM100 design features two independent converters providing fully regulated auxiliary outputs. Outputs V1 and V2 are regulated by the control loop while V3 and V4 are post regulated. V3 can be either positive or negative, selected by internal jumper.

The ECM100 multiple output series is well suited to applications where space is at a premium and there is little or no airflow. Full power is available with only 5 CFM airflow, and up to 80W using convection cooling. The ECM100 is also suitable for use in medial equipment or other applications where low leakage current is a necessity.

All models meet class B conducted EMC specifications (EN55011 & EN55022). Safety approvals include UL60601-1 and EN60601-1 for medical systems and UL60950-1 and EN60950-1 for commercial and IT equipment.

Pricing for 1,000 piece quantities ranges from $69.55 each for dual outputs to $74.10 for quad output models.
