February 03, 2002 by Jeff Shepard

WJ Communications Inc. (San Jose, CA) announced the new AH201 GaAs FET, which is an internally matched device that is suitable for both narrowband and broadband applications. The 1W driver amplifier can be used in base stations and wireless infrastructures, and is available in the cellular, PCS, NMT and UMTS bands.

A member of the AH200 Series, the AH201 is designed to operate from 250MHz to 3GHz and offers a gain of 13dB and 30dBm output P1dB. The unit's thermal design allows it to achieve 49dBm IP3 performance at a mounting temperature of 85 degrees C. The AH201 is housed in a 6mm x 6mm surface-mount LPCC that allows connections on all four sides and provides easy solder joint inspection. The company claims that this package occupies no more than the area of an SOIC-8.
