Ultra-Low Drop-out 500mA LDO Regulator ICs for Mobile Devices

New Products Feb 16, 2015 by Jeff Shepard

Toshiba Corporation's Semiconductor and Storage Products Company today announced the launch of 500mA LDO regulator ICs that claim the industry's lowest-class drop-out voltage in low voltage input. Shipment starts from today. The new TCR5AM series achieve ultra-low dropout and low voltage output by adopting an external bias voltage supply (Vbat) as an extra input voltage, improving power efficiency.

It offers high-efficient LDO solutions by achieving ultra-low dropout and various protection functions, such as over-current protection and over-temperature protection, in a single high-power dissipation package. It is designed to be used in smartphones, tablets, wearable devices and other mobile devices.

Main features include: Low dropout voltage:0.072V (typical) @Vout=0.6V, Vbat=3.3V, Iout=300mA, and 0.120V (typical) @Vout=0.6V, Vbat=3.3V, Iout=500mA; Wide line-up of output voltage: VOUT = 0.55 to 3.6 V; Protection functions: Over-current protection, over-temperature protection, inrush current protection circuit, under-voltage lockout function; Output current rating of 500mA; and high-power dissipation package, PD=0.6W, 1.2 x 1.2mm, t:0.38mm.
