September 30, 2002 by Jeff Shepard

Tsinghua Huatian Technology Development Co. Ltd. (China) announced its new AE-P406 CPU cooler, which provides an airflow of 18.2cfm and is designed for use with Intel's Williamette Pentium 4 processors operating up to 2GHz, as well as Northwood Pentium 4s that operate up to 2.4GHz.

The cooler consist of a 60mm x 60mm x 15mm cooling fan and a radiator that measures 89mm x 68.8mm x 43.2mm. The fan rotates up to 4,000rpm, features seven pieces of blade, and has a ball-one sleeve construction. The radiator consists of 25 pieces of fin-like chip and a thickened bottom, providing increased thermal capacity and cooling performance. The cooler also has a clasp to ensure a tight connection to the CPU.

The device is rated at 10.8Vdc to 13.2Vdc and requires a typical start-up voltage of 7Vdc. It draws 0.12A and dissipates 1.44W. The cooler produces a noise <27dB and is rated to last a minimum of 40,000h.
